Also known as the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle, this is a private international association headquartered in Switzerland. Its purpose is to foster the protection of industrial property rights on both the national and the international level. This goal has remained essentially unchanged throughout the over 100-year history of the AIPPI.
Founded in 1891, this association is the oldest institution in Germany dedicated to industrial property rights and copyright. With over 4,000 members, it also the largest.
The association fosters interest in the law of the United States of America through study, work and travel. To this end, it offers German legal professionals the opportunity to participate in exchange programs and to broaden their experiences with America, while also giving American legal professionals better access to the world of German law.
The committee deals with all issues of critical significance for the modern, professional management of a law firm. This includes not only such things as questions of strategy, personnel management, organization of procedures, technical equipment and EDP, but also attorney-specific concerns such as scheduling, file management and resubmission management.
